hello there, this exists to help my failing memory remember things I would want to remember a few years down the road.

jc academics is really boring.
dozing off in almost all the lectures.
the most exciting lesson today is student development, which is like CME in secsch.
seems like how many hrs of sleep also not enough. ppft.

after today, i believe i am one step closer to being heavier than jiancong.

didn't go for gi's meet, got to attend this family function.
the funny thing about such family fuctions is that i always do not know the ones holding the function personally. so just go there, following after my sister and echoing whatever she calls the elders, have a share of the buffet and leave, still not knowing the ones holding the function.
this sort of doesnt make much sense to me, since the fact is that my presence doesn't really matter to the people who are actually celebrating. which i believe, most teenagers feel the same, since i dont seee ANY teenager at today's function.
perhaps its because my maternal extended family is really huge and i dont even get to meet them even once a year. but since such gatherings are so rare and matter so much to my mum, went anyway.

oh, the buffet was good.
yet, the five of us (me,parents+sis,broinlaw) are not full and decided to have more food. went to j8 with them, a really rare affair, hafnt go for family outings since... cant rmb when.
we went to DIN TAI FUNG!
the last and only time i was there was with pam and yihui during the Os mugging period man.


we ate more than this, was too lazy to take pict of everything. :X all the times always hang outside dintaifung with pals and count the cost and decided to go somewhere else, so felt blessed eating today, lol.

after abit of shopping, the kids contemplated making dad hang around more, since he is totally NOT a shopper and decided to go for haagen daaz. apparently they have super good business today, so our plan failed and we dapao-ed the icecream. had this choc tree promo they are having: 2 scoops of icecream- choc&cookie and another of yr choice, topped with strawberries and chocstick. swallowed that down on the way home.

and am going to eat dinner now.

it's just one day i give to the family, i feel kinda blessed by it.

this saturday was kinda relaxed and nice.
had brunch with seepeng and rachel at centrept macs before service and after awhile, yihui came along too.

rushed off to service. the atmosphere outside nexus was kinda high, gigi was giving out lightsticks and people were laughing at one another, as usual. EXCITE was quite sucessful, imo. the 4 bands from the 4 districts were all not bad lah. steadfall did great! (: although somehow their mikes and instruments all no sound due to technical error, but the chemistry among them was really evident. huiying's phone must have been bombarded with votes. heard that there are alot of people who voted for them during second service even though there are northeast people ard, (besides those in support) so wow (:

but haha, thanks, so nice lah.

went off to instana park for district huddle. played the"aye,aye captain" game again, but the northeast people were more civilised reserved than the pple in clm, so there was still screaming, but not as much people-grabbing. it seems as though a few groups cheated during the rubberband game, but noone really cared, cause the hamper was torn open, and food thrown all over, so almost everyone had their share i guess.

headed over to PS to eat with yihui,kar,rach,peng,tian and leeshi. then walked ard somemore with them and left for home with pam and leeshi.
but on the way back, pam wanted to go to amk hub, so i went again.
i went there ard 4,5 times already, this is kinda embarrassing >_<
oh, the foodstores there are really good lah.

my brother just had free entertainment, seeing me attempt household chore for the first time in ages, poking at the clothes on hangers and moving them about to the correct bamboo pole that my mum wants them to be hanging on - -"

yeah, right on spot. household chores are really meaningless.
now i look at those great women who do their chores with willingness and love, wow, wonderful people. me? ppft, i dowan.

so while my mum trains my arm muscles with poking clothes around, cjc has been MERCILESS, with training our leg muscles. barely recovered from the bout of flu and i did ten rounds around cj track and ten GST aka grandstand torture. for the fortunate who knows nth abt GST, today's GST involves running up the flight of tall steps, then down and 5 pushups. this is ONE.

doing it ten times is a rather funny sight, would be alot funnier if you are not the one doing it actually. it's the first time in my life i see twenty over 17yr old young adults sitting around and encouraging the last few peers to climb a flight of stairs.

so beside this interesting first experience, school was rather boring.

haha! found this book in the cjc library during our second library tour (cj lib how big lah, why keep making us tour it??) featuring local designers that have made it quite big recently. and all their websites are printed at the back of the book, and i photocopied them, ha!
it's a really cool book, apparently published in hongkong so i dont know where to find it. they probably gave it free to all the sch libs for awareness purposes. :/

went down to rc with jonquek for pm, reached kinda late due to some unforseen circumstances (:/), stayed a while and went off with yihui, stopping by amk hub..
after a few weeks of abstinence from shopping, the desire for retail therapy strikes.

which means i just broke my momentum of frugal spending and saving for my hp bill, which just skyrocket-ted to a whole new record last month.
there goes my angpow money. T_T no more retail therapy. (rhymes eh)

just as jasmine had predicted, i am beginning to dread catered food. initially the dishes were kinda fresh, so not bad. but they are beginning to repeat and the food is getting like crap. i guess it happens when you cook for people you dont really care about? after all, they just want to run their business.

i suppose i ought to return to school tomorrow..
my bag and cjc file is in the exact position as two days ago, which is duper bad news- meaning i have not moved my lazy self enough to finish my econs tutorial, lit prose writing, maths tutorials etc etc. whoever said that you can slack first three months away? already have the wake-up-at six-plus-and-wail-and-want-to-skip-school feeling which is so familiar, as that period of sec4 mugging. :/

the difference? it's much easier to skip school in AND than in CJC.

i dont think i can survive jc's hectic life joyously.
nor cope with the crazy amount of workload.

there is much to do, the body is weak, the spirit too.

so i decided i am not well enough to return to school yet.

i had a weird dream.

i dreamnt that i was sitting for olevel listening comprehension. (did we actually have any listening compre ah?) then this listening compre is super weird, once time starts, need to run out the classroom, down the building and across the road. somehow in my dream, it was raining and my muscles were super painful. then i woke up. - -"
sleeping too much :/ nine to nine.

the other weird dream i had the other day was worse.
the setting was at tp aka Temasek Poly and it's one of their open house days. i bought a egg omelete thing and took a bite into it, chew, chew. then saw a feeler sticking out of it, drop the omelete, it unfolded to reveal a... cockroach.
this is a typical dream, but when you are the victim, it's gross lah.

i am sick and rotting at home currently. the body's protesting it needs a rest, so i left school after geog and headed home at nine plus, haha! went to the doc and rested till three plus.

shall blog abt the past days then, recently shedule has really been hectic till dont have the energy to blog daily.

MONDAY huishan's birthday!

i ended sch at two and went down to amk to meet the klan and wanjoo. met many people on the way there, i miss angmokio man, somewhat. met seepeng and krisstle, yining and friend (cant spell her name, whoops!), huiying, huitian,tracie and company etc.

went to mos to eat lunch and went over the ntuc xtra @ amkhub. apparently it isnt so fantastic, it doesn't even sell satay sticks. anw, amkhub is amazing! some of the shops in there are already open, and they include levis, converse etc. when in the place, you totally dont feel like you are in amk lah. oh and besides gogofranks<3, align="center">

SUNDAY was fun. had breakfast with zioncore then rushed down to RC. the meeting was very funny, esp when jontay stepped on strawberries heads that gi ate halfway, lol. oh, and minops requested for yihui to dance with daniel leow. haha. went to eat with yihui, sunny, ruiyong and jontay and cong!, who as hanging around aft the minops cg. :D

have been sleeping at nine, ten, eleven which is really really very early for me. then will wake up in shock at ard 1, 2am, realised i hafnt done stuff that i should do. :X

oh before worship, we played the "aye,aye captain" game which was so super scary i screamed repeatedly, which i normally dont. they were GRABBING PEOPLE okay.. MADNESS but kinda fun.

this is a REALLY unglam photo, but nevertheless, had a funny conference with the two of them just now... was very ear piercing but entertaining. thank you, peng and rach :D

oh, and that pair of adidas in that photo, is the one which has accompanied me to all my training camps and church camps and have broken apart.

i didnt go school today

went for TP's open house. only took a lousy shot while standing around cause it was really quite chaotic and crowded...

969 is a good bus, reached tampines is ard half an hour from yishun. told that i was supposed to meet gary and yiyou, but apparently, met up with them and stephen, glenn, thomas, joseph lin and later, sunny and lester. (nee3 outing?)

yiyou brough us around design and the bros soon went to slack and she brought me to vsc (visual com) studio to chat abt her courses and modules... first time meeting her but didnt feel weird talking to her (: after some time, philothea came to join us and yiyou left for sketching with her friends. went to business with philothea and met up with the rest of the brothers and ian and went back to design sch to be awed by the ultra huge mac screen computersss.

as quoted "woah, they so rich lah. just buy mac and anyhow throw in the school"
which is to a certain extent, accurate. because design sch does have kinda a large number of comps.

both philo and yiyou went back to work and ian brought us to IT sch.. it's great knowing Hope people, we have three guides for three hours, lol. thank yous.

TP managed to come across as a vibrant school, with their many stages and people (yah, perky guides, people selling choc-dipped stuff and WINGED ladies with short skirts :X)

oh, VSC rocks.

after a bus ride, we parted and i took a butt-hurting 50 minutes busride to serangoon. met with yihui.. at this moment, i regret not calling yk and asking him if there's a shorter way there. due to stuffs, left a short while later and met up with seepeng @ amk.mos. had a good talk :D

WEDNESDAY i went for FSV and the seniors (oh, fsv has only FOUR j2, LOL) brought us to cjc's performing art centre.

only know that they pump in alot of cash into this place.. which is going to be opened very soon.. the senior showed us the control room and its really quite professional. (the windows are even made 1deg slanted so people on stage cant see those in the room)

FSV does some boring stuff like play the national anthem morning (which also include sitting n chatting in a room when people have to stand n listen to assembly stuff ^^) and cool stuff like mortages, which are like a vid compiled of all the year's events highlights. gosh, saw that a senior has to put his face into a bowl of mealworms >_<

oh and the first few lines they tell us sort of reminded me of Ycom. "we work very irregularly, based on the events and when the school needs us", smth like that.

TUESDAY i met up with the klan after sch (!!!)
ying and xin came first and we went to snack and then decided to feast on gelare waffles, since they have 50% off on tuesdays. ber and jasm joint us and we sat around and talked for quite some time and laughed, like how it always is when we go out lah ^^

all of us then went over to visit huishan @ her workplace. something really embarrassing and funny happened here, made all of us look like a scene out of a comicbook. LOL.

had rc@ rc on MON and quite little pple could turn up :/ the virus has been going around man..

today was a rather busy sunday.
had guit lessons in the morning, kindly held by yihui for the zion cls who apparently lack gifting for guitar, but didnt really do much due to time constraints. i then left with her and chiong-ed cab down to cuppage. in the process, I LOST MY HP battery cover ah! so now my phone looks half naked w.o the thing to cover the battery. any one has a k750i extra phone and wants to sell the phone's butt? then went for gi's meeting and combined team rally. due to a remarkably crazy thing i did, i was really sleepy, zombified and zonked out throught the day. headed home soon after that at around five plus...

lectures at school really dont appeal to me at all. been feeling more and more sure i dont want to do this for two full years.. oh btw, if u have amaths now and is planning to slog for two yrs in a jc, cling on to it! the people that dont take amaths and are taking maths are sort of struggling now man.. the academics part of jc is just drop dead..boring and meaningless.

just realised i completely forgotten to blog about the last day of orientation...
it's kinda anti-climax to blog about it now, but nevertheless...
we went to east coast park for amazing race walk, because everyone leisurely travelled from game station to game station, enjoying the breeze man. lol, generally all the stations were kinda fun, but my new shoes got dirtied :/ so cruised through the stations, enjoyed the first one most. it was fun. stuff yr butt into one tyre, which is purposely placed in the sea, and the class will pull you upslope while you brush sand away to clear the path. the feeling of being hoisted upslope is shiok.
*inserts vague descriptions of wash up scenes*
after that, we had the final house meeting, and after the facils "challenged" us, we marched into the hall with "you what? kyuuka! you what? kuuka!" while the other houses happily retort "you what? you suck! you what? you suck". oh, and i thought i have done many banners in my sec life, till i got blown away by the cj's banners that the facils painted, i wish i can get my hand on some photos...
so anyway, the whole night is somewhat similar to campfire, loads of screaming cheers and stomping etc. the skits put up by all the houses were kinda funny, though one left me kind of traumautised, even to this day....... >_<

then we had this video by FSV! (film sound video) aka my current cca, compilation of what happened for the past 6 days. this kinda reminds me of all the late night editing the Hope mm people go through to compile camp vid, lol. oh, FSV is really not bad, so kinda looking forward to learning some skills from them for free, hopefully will be useful for ycom.. the flashbacks of all the recordings of all the days' programmes just flash across the huge screen, and the funny scenes lit many smiles of the people there that night, gives that warm touch of nostlagia, somewhat. power of multimedia?

and to top it all off, we have our mass dance!, which we practised so hard for. well, not exactly hard, but more like struggle. esp when u get partners who dont really wana dance. anw, im thankful, some stranger kyuuka guy popped out from no where n asked to dance, so we just danced tgt twice. kinda fun (: cj mass dance rocks!

in the highness of everythg, ended the night and left for bishan with pamela. gobbled down some fries and chatted for awhile and headed home.

CJ has a really fun 6day orientation lah, kudos to all the facils and the people who planned. everyone is rather orientated after that, lol. i dont regret going to cj, at least for the orientation part :D 0 comments

absence makes the heart grow fonder?

the first three days 0f orientation, my IG, IG eleven was dull and quiet. nowadays, they have so many outings. they have three already, and i missed all three, whoopsie. sorry people.
during orientation, we often whine about how much we rather sit in lecture theatres instead of doing lame rotation games. now, i miss playing stupid games so much.

TGIF.
had such an enjoyable time @ serangoon macs just now. laughed heartily, were just repeating all the lame CJ jokes esp the "name of the day, name of the day..." one to entertain the muggers- rachelfong, mich, yanyu, lun etc. just the whole grp of Hope people at the same macs. cong, gi, josephlin and chenxiang were ard also. fun!

me and pam were relatively quite high. at least i was. jon and her were dancing the mass dance after pm, to the extreme amusement of fellow Hopies hanging ard RC. actually it's not abt CJ being so fun, but somehow when all 3 of us there, u naturally can talk abt what happen and go high, while entertaining the rest conveniently..

lectures have been going on these two days.. let's say that whatever is being taught is not exactly appealing to my system, i cringe at several parts of lectures.. :/

Genesis ends tomorrow. which means we bid a tearful (yeah, right...) farewell to mud, water and games and open up our arms to embrace econs, maths, geog and lit. this entire orientation is really physcially demanding and soak us in plenty of sun.

yesterday after a day of meet-your-new-class session and more icebreakers and mass dance, me and and jon chiong down to rc for zion's exclusive rc@ rc (retention class @ regional centre). the comments everyone gave were "woah, you so tanned now", "woah, you look like siewluan", "woah, you very unglam".

after that, had a mini zion clm at macs. i am addicted to macs fries, thanks pam, must be yr influence. :P after the meeting, chiong down to yck to meet the klan. supposed to dine with them at nyny but i couldnt make it, so went to get flower and meet them and jo the birthday girl at yck. we spent like 15 minutes saying more birthday greetings to jo and waving goodbye, as though she's migrating - -"

and i realised, i miss them alot T_T
after jo left, the train came and jasmine and renying chiong-ed home while i took train home with bernice and cixin. this is a relatively familiar scene, yet now the situation is so different.

my new class only has 7 guys, rest are girls that are of a good racial mix i guess- this combination reminds me of 4/4'06 actually.. initially, was rather apprehensive about the whole thing, because out of the girls, only 3 or 4 are not from ij schools, felt a little outnumbered and out of place, but realised everyone is kind of friendly and nice. there's also a guy (i cant spell yr name man.) that is very into magic tricks, so we get free tricks to watch ;D

fell asleep at the comp last night, woke up a while later when whole body was aching and went to sleep. dozed off this morning after breakfast. if my mum didnt wake me up, i would probably have to skip school already. Thank God she did.

today was kind of fun..
took bus to kallang river area early in the morn aft asembly. passed by so many sec schools of the people, like SA, SJI etc. had a scavenger hunt around the area, but the "treasure" is a buried plastic bottle which is rather - -" but the games were fun, especially this one where we were given sprayers and bombs filled with water with pink dye. my class chiong-ed and won kinda victoriously i guess. the most memorable one is probably the forfeit for this short game which we were supposed to stack up our feet to reah more than two metres vertically up. tania and i got the "honour" to be hoisted up.. anyohhow, we lost T_T the forfeit was to stick our face in this mixture of agaragar, beans etc thing that looks and tastes like vomit and take out majong chips put in the mixture, extremely bonding!

we had a laughter-filled lunch, literally, because Adriel was laughing nonstop at every little joke we made, and Rebecca was laughing at his laughter, and we laughed at her and the thing continues...

then, went dragonboating!
the last time i was there was with guides, but the memory is really vague already, only rmb after the whole thing was on the bus back with ber, huddling while sitting on the floor of the bus because we were dripping wet. our instructor was kinda funny, did all the viking moves with us and told us a rather comforting truth- that our boat is spoiling and needs to be sent for repair alr..
so im even tanner now (:

headed back to school for washup and KYUUKA house meet and then left for home alone, so sad lah. :/ but had a nice walk ard tpy and napped otw home..

i am starting to understand why everyone kept telling me to guard heart, to not fall away in jc. temptations litter the place, the wordly things surround us pretty much. received a first invitation to go clubbing, no doubt a rather casual one.. colourful language is all over the place..yadayada.

once in a while, miss the more simplistic and family-ish culture of Anderson. or maybe just the familiar friendly faces we know for so long. i realised i am not as adaptive as i thought i am. apparently, now that we have "orientated" into our classes from our IGs, we will have to go through this again if we stay in CJ after 2nd intake, gosh :/

it's time to finally sleep abit more than 4 or 5 hours.

finally blogging! blogger has been dying on me the past few days and i was occupied with other things. :/

so... three days of jc life just went by.
kind of feels like a few weeks already...

CJ is kind of fun, the orientation theme is Genesis... (though i still dont know how this links w all the programmes we went through) the facils (aka facilitators) have been such great enthusiastic people that never seem to get tired. the opening ceremony on day one was really good, they can dance man. always see them shaking to all the songs they play in the hall at random times, lol.

it's comforting meeting people that i know in the sch- pam, jon, geraldine, arthur etc. and Hopies like luan, david hoe and met liping who was there working.. oh, CJ really has plenty of goodlooking guys. not lusting lah, perhaps just dont see such kind of pple in AND (whoops) and is pleasantly suprised, haaaa.

if only my IG (aka index group aka og) is more "on" and enthusiastic, think this would be alot fun-ner. my grp has a real mix of different people.. not sure if this is a good or bad thing, though i am more certain i cant fit in with some particular kind of personality...so these three days, we have been playing alot alot of games. on day one, the atmosphere was so cold i totally felt like stepping in and teaching them how to play "do u love yr neighbour" or some cutesy cg games lah.. obviously i didnt.

many people have been telling me cj canteen sucks alot, but the food i have tried the noodles, western and jap. all okay what :/
oh, and one huge problem with them is that their hall is seriously tiny, which thus causes admin matters to be done super duper uber slowly. zzz.

on day one, sch ended at around four plus, had to chiong down to amk for cg despite being uber tired. but thank God, i managed to teach and refresh myself in the whole process, was kind of a memorable day one for all of us there ;D then had to chiong home for Dad's bday celeb and Ycom. it was a really draining day, but i was happily drained out- i kind of like such a feeling.

after cj's "punctual" dismissal (refer back to slow admin) on day two, headed to far east to snack and slack with pam. met huishan working and went to kaciao her..

today is the best day so far i guess. we "hiked" over to police academy early in the morn for a whole lot of games. had some running around games on the field, and we kept cutting into the track of the poor uncles taking their 2.4 test :X played water polo for a very short period of time and thus got soaked to the skin. the human bowling game is fun man, should intro to games com and play in Hopecamps:X it's like they have these plastic sheets on the grass, shaped into a long lane; empty bottles as pins; a lot of detergent and soap and foam as "lubricant" and the ball? us. so we run, jump, slide, strike. it's really entertaining seeing the poses people come up with to slide.. after this, had Mudgame, forming words with our bodies while lying on the mud.

we paraded back to CJC with our shirts with mud. :/ felt like an elephant when one of the IG guys hosed me down, like how you clean a car/elephant. only managed to change and head for yet another session of mass dance.

cca bazaar was really vibrant. the performances kind of rock. i joined FSV (film,sound,vid) which is like photog combined with mm kind of cca? heard that they have workshops @ lasalleSIA! and i somewhat put my name down for council, kind of wondering why i did that now.. ended at around six, headed over to toapayoh, ate alot, and had a fruitful talk with pam the whole way.

their programme has been improving all along, and we gonna have like orientation part two when we know our classes on monday.. hope that i have enthusiastic people in my class, who would laugh at stupid jokes and go crazy once in a while...

kind of miss this sort of layouts, so made smth simple and relatively bright..

my new yr resolutions are safely written in the new journal which pam and me finally picked out the other day.. ^^
