hello there, this exists to help my failing memory remember things I would want to remember a few years down the road.

Thank You for small things...

Thank You,
that I managed to give a little encouragement to someone who is in the valleys,
for wonderful songs to sway and sing along to,
(the Carpenters, The Sea and Cake, Lincoln Brewster etc etc)
for a family who gives up the crab's pincers for the youngest one,
and opens cans of chewy treasure to share,
for bored friends like the OL and the xin that will entertain her and in the process entertain me,
a dino that wants to buy me chicken essence and remembers I dislike it,
for friends to go through deadlines with,
for a soon-to-be camp commander who is committed to do his job well,
for people to go through the madness of ESS prep with,

and Thank You in advance,
for a journey on which I learn to love,
and...

for completing my work (for consult) todayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
fighty ah!

Lays is learning and trying to be more committed at the craft she loves.

yay no more cny songs :D

Hello gong xi fa cai.
hope everyone's rich and happy,
and had a fruitful time with your family.

I was kinda depressed on cny eve,
'cause my married sisters were busy at their in-laws, and my parents were busy offering stuff to their gods, so I was stranded at home with dustbunnies as I packed my room and ate that afternoon's lunch for dinner. We used to have steamboat and the whole wishing Dad cheem 4words ritual :|

CNY got a tad better the next two days.
Chu yi night/morning, I played cooking mama on the Wii at my cousin's.
I lost like 2angpows' worth of money while playing cards with them,
but I stopped after that 'cause I was just unlucky, the two fellas on my sides keep blackjack-ing, but it just doesn't land in my hands, boo.

Chu er aka today was spent smiling shyly and sheepishly at distant relatives whom I don't recognise giving me angpows. My grandma lives in the same block as I do, so I simply roll out of bed, wash up and head upstairs, I was so shocked at the unfamiliar faces, thought I went into the wrong house ._.

Wasted ten bucks on one of those lame cny movies with Ang and Xin at Yishun GV.
but it's just nice meeting them, the only friends I met during cny this year.

Then finally came the immediate family's reunion, short simple affair.
(I want my steamboat >: ( )
and this concludes two days of not doing anything about the to-do list,
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

happy niu year mooooooo
I am bored as usual on cny,
so bored that I went to play Pet Society on FB,
the pizza delivery came,
and so I left my pet in the house, and he...

started lying on the new 1k grass floor and sleep while smiling.
cute eh?

Oh! my vanilla week diary is finally here :D
(thanks to you who paid for it and you who collected it for me, whee)

and it thinks I am beautiful, HAHA.

My life shall go back to normal and I shall stop living in 2008 :|

Last Friday, we crashed into the gates of IJ randomly, and shot for Feburary's ESS, Fall's first publicity :)

This is me and our new model, Huiyang.
His shepherd was exclaiming his iron rice bowl is being taken away by his sheep, hahaha.
The wonderful Kiap who put everything together in record speed is behind the lens : )

Day after that was Seoul Garden, and seeing Huitian at a whole new excitement level I haven't seen before, HAHAHA, so cute. We celebrated KX's 18th, and it's the 5th birthday celeb for me this month, madness ._.

Tian making prawn omelette ._.

KX's doraemon cake..
Hope you enjoyed your eighteen,
embrace liberty responsibly ;)

happy Pangday :D

Pang's 19th was spent at Bakerzin Novena,
when she came in Madagascar fashion, and exposed Xin's inability to lie.
It was a good girl's night out, and the group of us is just a hazard to anyone trying to have a quiet meal.

This is their thoughtful little gift for pang who always so blur-ly loses her things,
it contains enough coins for her to get a ride or two home..
if she loses this little piggybank then...

Pang is the sacrificial one in the group,
the one that everyone whines to,
and will possibly cross oceans for those she loves.
I still remember car-gazing out of windows with you in the dark mornings in class.
May HIPP Of happiness be with youuu.

They say a good idea keeps you awake all night.
I say a good idea allows you to go to bed in peace.

That's why I am still awake

smiley :D :) :>

Got home from walking around the heartland with the parents and sis' family
and I am happy with the buys and the spontaneous outing.

This is a happy self-indulgent post,
when I am supposed to be drawing fish swimming in circles to win my lecturer's approving "good"s and "nice"s.

These are some postcards I took from AnBC while shopping for xinyi's birthday. I am not too sure if they are free, but there's one whole stack there so i took one of each and tested by walking out of the store with those in hand. They never run after me, so I guess they are free. They made me really happy. Such pretty cards with good photog :D

This is my collection thus far!
HAHAHA. I am just nostlagic. Like the technology of these Macs happy meal toys,
it's like those handhelds from our good old donkey kong years, so I decided to collect them.
(thanks kx for the basketball one, and uhm I am missing the soccer one but i am so lazy. :|)
I have some unexplanable attachment to games and toys from the past, (think lego, pollypocket, paper dolls) when they were still simple in our times. Nowaday the toys very complex I don't know how to play ._/.

I think this is worthy of a blog entry of its own.
On 16th Jan 2009, (after passing my BTT :D and lunch with Rachel) I stepped into Suntec Convention hall with my cgmates to witness this:

To think I left my camera at home thinking there won't be anything interesting to capture.
It was interesting singing chinese worship songs. I still think chinese songs sound closer to the heart.

I was surprised at the number of people and the view from where I was standing.
The church is over 4k now... and still desiring to do the small things right.
I thank God for every single person standing there, and the many people who poured into each of their lives.

:)

four hundred fifty six posts later
I am not dead, though a little stretched and running low on time!
Just want to fill the first post with some pictures.

Went to Novotel at Clarke Quay for buffet for Heroes Camp Comm retreat 'cause the commander has discounts there.. Picture shows duck breast with something raspberry, I like eating duck with fruits! hahaha.

(didn't really bother taking photos, busy eating.) Food was not too bad, got bored of it after a bit but the durian paste thing's really shiok. It's just durian flesh that's just right, not too thick not too strong :D

The Committee :D

(and missing Jia. Were you in the washroom?)

This entire week from last Thurs to the coming Thurs has just been madness and will be madness.
Will update more...

How's your fourteen days?
It's (almost) half a month into the not-so-new year.

I am eating cookie crisp soaked in chocolate milk :D
So far I think I have been eating properly, which is like a breakthrough.
I have been sleeping properly too, probably tooooo properly.

Last night after 3 episodes of forensic heroes I fell asleep,
without doing any work.

I am moving at snail's pace when classmates have already completed more than one.
I am like 15% through one?

Oh and everyone taking Integrated Project!
Our dear old lecturer just realise that it's spread across two blocks instead of one!
Which means we will probably have more time, but also means we got to redo like, 5 instead of 3.
At least that is what he told me when I went to consult yesterday.

This is just a rare morning perky entry.
I have no class today, but will be going to TP with xiaoXinyi anyway.
And my 2nd last session of tuition and money making, 'cause timetable this month is so bad I cannot take the job anymore.

how sia

I need a sudden ability to draw well, paint well,
and out-talk my lecturer who likes to dig in his teeth while talking to me.

If only my stuff on paper and print looks as good as they do in my head.

(the best time to post a candid shot of your friend is when he is off in some ulu island with no computer nor internet :D)

Early Friday morning, I went to Pasir Ris to send an old friend off.

In fact, many people went.

Not only his sheep of long ago who so sweetly cabbed down with a card and snack in hand,

Not only two more ladies,

nor more old friends,

but many many people,
who said a really loud BYE~! when he boarded the bus.

Hopefully his bunk mates were not around when we embarrassed him with our sincere farewell wishes.

Hope you are doing well in there, quek!

*

And I spent the rest of the day with

Rachel before heading to school.

(and getting stressed about work after consult
why man why don't you like my concept!)

For Jo's nineteeth, we went to Essential Brew at Holland V. It's some funky fusion restaurant that combines tea into their food (like jasmine rice with honey mustard chicken or something like that).

(photos heavily edited because some are taken with our threepointtwo mp phones)

We were at this little corner under the stairs,

but I think the entire place could hear us.

I am beginning to see why people say we (as in the clique) look alike.

Their desserts were quite delightful
This is rainbow Indulgence, cheesecakes in little cups people use for alcohol shots. This one is like not too nice, 'cause some taste weird, but the oreo one is whoohoo!

This is the birthday girl's, and also the store's specialty,
something plateau, too fanciful for me to rmb.
It's awesome though, I love their little cornflakes bits mixed with the choco and cream and strawberries. :D

The lovely people.
We have six more birthdays this year. :D
Please stay young my lovely 18 year old friends, esp you, Jasm. ;)

*

The first caregroup of the year was at little Xinyi's place,
and we had nice juices, chips and sharing of the new year resolutions and Psalm twentythree.
Guess it was worth the three buses to get there from school >: )

Got home from Joanne’s birthday celebration at Holland V.
As usual, it’s a really nice gathering,
just that with each gathering it makes me feel that we are really all growing up.
JasmineAng came clad in business wear as an OL (office lady) and complaining about how aircon is making her hair and skin dry, Ber was late because she has work, the rest are whining about being poor and unemployed.

Lays is in no hurry to grow up, though sometimes she thinks she is simply running away.

Happy nineteeth, lovely jo tng.
I miss sitting next to you in class.

(it's only 8 days into '09, and I have celebrated two bdays!)

growing

When things you once made and though were good now look embarrassing to you,
it doesn't mean they aren't good anymore,
just not good enough for you,
which means you have gotten better. :D

Jiayou my IntegratedProject classmates!
