hoho, my school has yet to begin....__. week one is add/drop subjects for TDS, so we get the week off. went back to school today for Genesis meeting though, an annual meeting for the entire TDS, held at TCC aka Temasek Convention Centre. was surprised when they began the meeting with bands jamming. uh... well... they are not fantastic lah... maybe because it's 930am in the morning. and! some girl sang that super nostlagic "keep believing... dreams are for weaving... wonders are waiting to start..." 1/3 '03 oi?! lol. but wow, it was rather awesome with all the song presentations and dance to keep us awake and end on a high note, though the two talks were kind of boring :X was surprised again, to find refreshment outside TCC after the talk. they are rich aye.. went to the "IT fair" outside DES office. uhm, well, it's 3 counters with 3 different brand of laptops. Apple is cool, they just have this black counter with no fussy deco unlike the others... hohoho. stoned for an uber long time with the OG and finally moved to DES canteen. after a while, xuefen and i left first and went to walk around at TM (: bought nothing but had fun talking... left for khatib and trained to amk. amk macs has been bustling with people. met cherie and alot of other zionites, just like on monday- met alot of zionites while meeting huitian and sarah then loitered and went home with wongcixin! BLOGGING ABOUT CAMP RADICAL orientation. yes very lag, but they finally upload all the photos! kudos to media crew! CLICK HERE for all the pictures! highlights of the camp! taking away all the many lame games they put in to icebreak. DAY2, 1804 oh yah, we are divided in 4 huge empires- wonka, vader, johnny, elvis which are further divided into subempires- eg wonka W/I/L/Y. i am in Wonka I aka I-yo. cheers! design school has awesome cheers, especially to suan other schools. but they were funny. learn plenty of them. caregroup! we are divided into smaller groups called caregroups and we had lunch with our caregroup, which we will be attending modules with i guess, but are not our classes. TDS works on block system so we have no classes. my caregroup people are nice and friendly, the guys are rather gentlemen too. looking forward to see them in class (: table soccer! this is their selfmade court! with wooden planks and lastminute(:X) grafitti sprayed on and plastic poles that on slack string so people can only move left and right. topview! so the subempires compete with one another. the lectures vs freshmen/seniors match is AWESOME, really nice to watch~SENTOSA trip. the cool thing about part of our orientation being held at sentosa is that we were there from 830pm to around 3+am, going INTO sentosa via the sentosa express at vivo when everyone else was leaving. played station games there in our sub empires. was really physically worn down, but enjoyed it. was really tempted to shine my torch into this stranger couple going over each other as we walked past cafe Del Mar with all the beds and sofas... hoho. guess how we end the day at sentosa? PHOTOSHOOT. they actually got the media crew to bring all the equipment that you see when you take class photos to sentosa and we ended the day when a photoshoot, eyebags, messyhair and all. meet I-yo's group mascot who is way popular than the group itself- peter. why peter? our GL, jacen named him that randomly on the train on the way to sentosa out of his highness. hoho, actually Yzanne from I-yo made him out of the paperbag TP sent us in the package. (: oh, the lecturers and Moses were with us at Sentosa till 3am+ and my group was lucky to be back and in the bathing place at sports complex, since the queue extended way out of the loo when we were done and back to sleep. DAY 3, 1903 Oh, we woke up rather late this day so the day flew by very quickly. massdance was rather disappointing, whoops. if you want to be evil and compare, cj massdance is way better. the difference? the tp people are way more open with touchy mass dance. lunched at business canteen. met joseph lin and sunny lim, they only start their orientation this day. had a lecture talk by our own course manager/lecturers. i feel so so elated and delighted to see nice slides with good pictures. gone are the days of default and plain ppt slide templates. (: the lecturer made the course sounds rather stressful but... guess we will survive! and hopefully do well. performance night! although we dont have much time to prepare, we created a rather interesting storyline. peter (our mascot) is some ancient artefact in the museum and will come alive when you blow it and curse the people...you get the pict (oh yah, peter is stuck onto a hollow plastic pole- so u can blow from the bottom and it will puff up and go 'high'.) oh, i was just another statue on stage, lol. some performances were crazy lah- like waving banana in a suggestive manner at the wrong place of the body, 'hot' dancing, fairy godmother with funny accents... and most were the dump-all-cheers-and-scream-loudly kind... and.. HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY- NIGHTWALK. go to day three and scroll all the way down.. i decided i should not scare myself each time i visit my archives, so... dont want to post those picts up, hehehe. so, the very hardworking programmers/GLs went all around design school and tape up some lights to dim the place and make the whole school to be in a mess. we were told that there has been a serial murder case in TDS itself and the bodies are lying all around and our task is to find out who killed all the victims who for some reason are all girls. TDS being design school, have rather superb painting skills? the make up for all the "corpses" are way bloody and gruesome. ): how are we suppose to get our clues? we have to TALK to the corpses and they will act out certain lines. and yah, they have rather good acting skills- like when you are leaning in and listening intently to them, they suddenly have a hysteria outburst and scare you... oh and some are seated in super artistic positions. there was a pair who sat on wooden cratelike things and one of them was banging a metal chain against the crate and the sound is cool... to make the game more challenging, they have this dozen of people called the wanderers in black cloaks and ugly masks, just to delay you cause most girls would scream and not dare to get past them when they block our paths. there is this super freaky wanderer with a phamton mask and he is so tall, he hid another similar mask in his body and trash the mask into yr face when you walk past. and the wanderers have like "metal arms" man, they love BANGING all the studio tables and making super loud noises. this is when i realise how vulnerable people are when they cant see in the dark and hear unknown loud noises. oh, yet another wanderer like to piak himself near the stairway on level6 down to the level5 studio and use his/her hair to touch us. so basically it was scary but fun. and they ended the whole thing by getting us to go back to the LT and they showed us a video they acted out about the storyline- which is a male TDS lecturer is married to another female lecturer (duh) but the male lect is so charming he had flings with many girls and his wife finally found out and went bersek and killed all the people then commit suicide, hoho. awesome planning. DAY 3, 2004 final clash day! it's a tradition that on the last day of orientation all the schools- applied sci, engine, biz, des and IT will come tgt to compete for many prizes. and look at us, this is the entire design at orientation in the triangular garden (all the grass patches are triangular in shape, hence the name). we are really tiny lah, the snallest school. engine is thrice or maybe four times us okay. design marched into the stadium fashionably late and wore our shades and walked past all the other schools, with half the people wearing shades that they made us bring.
after many stadium small games which they manage to carry out smoothly and alot of cheering, we walked for 5 minutes to reach our backyard aka bedok reservoir for dragonboating, lol, cool aye. 0 Comments: |
