THE SEVEN MODULES.i am blogging this down because i am sure i wont remember them in the future. ![]() ![]() this is my favourite and proudest piece of work. it took me seven hours because i am a noob with copic markers and this was our first exercise. i got a fat B+ ): but i still love this piece. we had to construct a picture to include the tiny squares, circles and triangles that were already on the paper. no easy feat but fun. ideation was our first try of everything- markers, paint, collage work, photog. very fresh. love our fairygodmother who is always very patient and merciful. the many brainstorming groupwork sessions were awkwardly fun, because we were still strangers to one another. the pasir ris photoshoot rocked. this is our first taste of sleep deprived life. i will always rmb painting guitars till 5am. ![]() aka the most words written module this has got to be the most detestable module for most people but i think i learnt a lot from my intimidating lecture who loves deep V-neck shirts. it was a non-writer's nightmare because it was essays after essays, peer reviews after peer reviews and presentations after presentations. my design icon was lego. hehehe. maybe that is why i enjoyed it. lego rocks. and this is my comdi group. ![]() ![]() i thought i would die here but i survived through. did countless sketches and we developed a love hate relationship with dots and lines. dotting a huge shoe on an A3 piece is not really fun. staying back with classmates in the library with our pencils, 01 pen and 005 pen became a norm and i never drew so much in a month before. the final assignment was a whooping a2 nature piece and i had my first taste of school's night life , with yt and robin, begging the cheers@business to sell us our dinner and scaring ourselves crazy with the sculptures next door. ![]() i didnt learn anything much from this module except that i can mutter cool words like intanglio, repousse, chromolithography, incunabula, and so on that i wouldnt be able to explain in detail. most of lesson time was spent drawing for the abovementioned module while hiding behind our computer monitors, whoops. and hyprocrisy was revealed. oh, but my group was fun. ![]() ![]() the picture very well describes the frustrations about the "abstract, abstract", "tsk, tsk, tsk so beautiful", "aiyoh, i dont know you know...", "very flat..." ringing around our ears this entire module. its like having a commentator in class. the horrible late nights, first encounter being chased by mr security and material sourcing. my final assignment is a blow up piece of plaster. hahaha. ![]() ![]() bought the "hammer" (the T-sq), so many mounting boards and other tools, printing and re-printing etc. been to art friend so many times. can go up to 70bucks altogether? why plasters? because it has to be the block with the most injuries. which inspired the abovementioned huge plasters. the initial square cutting really killed me. i hate brainless work. but towards the end, we got to do our own designs, fun. (: got this hanging on my wall in my room now. ![]() ![]() i think the days attended can be counted with my two hands. i guess it makes me dissatisfied too because i had high expectation but didnt get to learn as much as i hoped but still quite a lot to add on. this is the first time we get to go through the entire design process and create something that we did entirely, no photos to be taken off the net too. guess we will have of such projects in the future. so... there goes almost one semester. time flies. there were so many times we thought it wasnt possible, that it is so difficult. but each time we made it through (: i love life in tds. hair-tearing, tears-inducing, budget-bursting, gastrics-inducing, vending machine-dependent, caffein-reliant, blah blah blah. crazy. 0 comments 0 Comments: |
