Y-Comm retreat Dec 07
Pardon the over exposed photos. Didn't set the settings well for people to take >: this is our dear penguin getting her special long service award. her trophy is customised with a penguin, how thoughtful. hehehe. the people who got the y-comm trophies for working hard and showing great spirit. peng lin is missing from the photo! the people who had a lot of fun playing taboo and charades, eat and talk, alot. Thanks for working hard everyone... in '08 we will reach somewhere greater. Oh, I love creative eateries or ulu cafes, like this one that we went to. Cixin! I shall attempt to go there with you when I end my next block! It is very near your school, at 6th avenue centre (: Haha... end block always seem so far away and blink blink, we got there. School is starting in five days. I hope I am prepared. I got to convince myself I am. |

Try
I always complain that my house is too far away from the station. But I really agree with my dear neighbour Esther, the view here is quite good. I went to breathe some fresh air since I was home early. And although I am no nature lover, I am a "creation-ist", someone that relates using the creation pathway. I found her peeping through the fence at a small lane. I think hibiscus is so pretty. I like gerberas too. (YT & ZY: gasp! lays' innerchild!) I like branches shot since I dont know when. I wonder how you feel being trapped up. This is a chirpy old uncle that asked me if I was joining the other joggers to jog. hehe uncle, I wish I have that motivation. I wonder if I will be that chirpy at his age. And soon, they will all be no more. I love to catch the dusk sky. God is a creative God. "Try." I guess life is a journey of trying. Everyone tries to get to the right places and get things right. Some get it, some don't. and I hope my heart will still have compassion to bring those earnest eyes away from a tall block of wood, to the truth. Such walks refreshes the mind. Useful for a design student. And I think photography should stay as a once-in-a-while thing for me. <: Then I will be happier. |

minops
I didn't realise that this was a FULL photo until I read Jia's blog. It is really really difficult to get a full photo in MinOps because someone is always somewhere doing something but yay, full photo... I guess many people often see this group of people having fun and playing hard... but they work really hard too. Just want to say to all my cgmates (aka unit mates), you guys are like superheroes to me. Sounds horribly corny, but I admire each and everyone of you, how you love the church and work you work hard for the church, those nights behind the computer, late and long practices, countless phonecalls, sleep deprival... Thank you. I hope to know each of you better. * * *

It has only been six months since I joined this family. The decision making was hard, and I did not have much time. I will always remember the impromptu sharing by yihui at the amk macs amidst her mugging, it was a God-anointed one because she hardly talks this way, haha. "Do you want to be the one who make the box or be the one to give the box?" The box was referring to this cute silver cube that "lured" me to my first ever service at Y-Hope when I was in sec 1. "Do you want to do what no one else can do or do what no one has done?" In the sense that not everyone does design and the do what no one has done as in maybe grow a group to hundred or something. When I made the choice, I was scared. Freaking scared. After all, I used to be afraid of all the minops people cause they look so zai. haha. But I am happy to serve God here, and getting to know the people more, and realising that they are zai and also very funny people. There's still a long way ahead. But I am running on. Whee. |

Christmas 07 with photos
I am never a fan of too huge christmas trees, but this one at vivo was really awesome. The Y-Comm team missing armyboy87 at the Rock. Lousy shot, just want to show how much bubbles the bubble machine is making, haha. Jerel is really nice to have made a mask! I am wearing his self painted mask and puay is being high with the huge mickey hand. hmm. Yhope never fails to amaze me with their ability to self entertain. I guess as I grow in Hope, the imperfections of a church do become more obvious. But at times like this, I want to choose to notice and acknowledge them, then think of how to solve them. Talking is easy, but most of the time, nothing goes on after that. Thank God for Gi and your team, you guys worked and chiong-ed hard. I know the party was not the greatest one, but it is somewhere. (: "See you next year!"..? Guys have easy pajamas. They just look like they are in camp. 0 comments |

Christmas 07
I am in a mildly happy and grateful state of mind.My thighs are aching from the running to Sentosa in the drizzle and because I haven't exercised since the CJ days. But... today was a well spent day. Had a lot of difficulty waking up today since I chiong-ed cards till five plus in the morning. It is really funny how we know each year that Christmas will fall on the 25th of December, and the names of the people we want go give those cards to... and yet never manage to finish in time. There is countless people I wish to affirm and encourage, but... hehehe. Met Jiashern and brought him to The Rock for sleeping beauty, wake up leh!, our very own Hope dramedy. And although I didn't like it that much personally, the plot is really well done. And and, Jiashern decided to give this a try.. and I hope he will be a "satisfied customer". All you people with the white plycards, Thank God for all your courage and your changed lives touched me today. Then was the long decision making for food and to Sentosa for A Christmas Masquerade. The weather was not really for us, but everyone was in duper high spirits, going crazy with the bubble machine and snow foam machine. Xing ku le, everyone. It is our first try and may following attempts get better (: The night seemed to end low when we missed our last bus, but it's cool that in return, I got a nice busride with Emu Lee and encouraging each other. Thank You God for this Saturday, and for Yhope. 0 comments |

age
That's my 7-month old nephew's biscuit and that's the sou tao served at my grannie's 82nd birthday. Numbers scare me, especially when they are indicating age (and money). It's great to see grannie healthy and cheerful. Beings really have limited control. Christmas reminds me of supernatural birth and of course, overcoming death... * 2 weeks more. I am happy with this holiday... so don't end so quick... 0 comments |

X29: It's OUR Chapter
Yhope, is serious about God, and about His promises. is crazy to the maximum during every concert, praising and worshipping. This is Resonance, and these are people wanting some stage lights on themselves. is wacky and creative, because we are young and we take jokes well. even when it is during gigs, and the spotlight man happens to be a friend, shining the light at the wrong bandmate, on purpose. was entertained by Lee. has much thanksgiving, especially when your alumi has an age range of maybe 12 and growing. are overcomers, and we achieve the impossible. deadlines, mistakes, learning points aside, I really think yo!mag is a breakthrough point. SO PEOPLE, if you want to throw it away, search your conscience! is family. Almost like the Incredibles, because they are like superheroes to me. covenanted ties. "I promise to respect each of your dreams and be here for you, and not allow work to sour the friendship between us." is about impacting, and I hope I did to you guys. Was overjoyed to see you guys having fun and being touched. is friendship. |

Design Fest 07
Was supposed to be down at SSS and helping out with Camp final preparations but parents rather I sleep at home tonight and go over tomorrow morning, so I should. And I guess this gives some time to step out of the situation and prepare my heart. Before that, shall blog about visiting the Old Supreme Court with the dear classmates as part of the Design Fest. They had on an Utter Rubbish Exhibition that was quite massive, with so many rooms set aside for it. I guess the organisers are being responsible, trying to get this generation of designers to think green, and design stuff that will be beneficial to the environment. Maybe they know how many trees I kill per month. ^^ Eco- friendly punching bags. Made of paper sewn tightly together and filled with many waste paper, zipped with a sturdy metal zip. Really good stuff. Hugged one and punched one. To hold a design fest in such a stern and stony building like the Court is really rather cool and creepy when one of the guides actually told us that "those chairs are where the convicts sit when they are being charged." Right there, on the black chairs were not people with sullen faces but on them sit pictures of toys in simple wooden black frames. And if this is the judge, I don't mind going for a court trial. Was a nice day out, went to Heeren and saw YT's pretty walls and soaked in the happening atmosphere of Noise Launch. It is awesome stuff to see your friend's work in the media's eyes and of course, the public's. Think Noise has been getting greater, they gave out a badge, good quality stickers and HUGE ears (Noise: we are all ears) to artists. Could only stay for awhile before chionging off to caregroup, where HUGE ears became good forfeit tool. Was in such a haste I ran across the path the VIPs are supposed to take :X Shared this verse for Holy Comm during CG Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. -John 21: 25 Cute, eh. +edit jiashern sent the photo! |
