the making of
![]() I was looking for some footages of Sweeney Todd on youtube when I stumbled across this 4 part series of the making of Sweeney Todd, a school production. The videos are about the technie crew, the people who designed and constructed the entire set. Those who have watched the movie version of Sweeney Todd (the one which was so unfairly given a M18 rating), would know that the props and set is really quite complicated, especially having to do one for an on-stage production. Think having to modify the razors so that blood will come out of it when the actors squeeze them, a turntable to support the weight of several actors that needs to be rotated for changing of scenes and so on. If only I could watch the final production they came up with. I didn't know before this that Sweeney Todd was written long ago. The power of film/movie to make it so well-known now. I prefer a theatre production anytime though. It's so soulful and engaging. If only I am in an Arts school, I will sneak into the theatre people area and photograph their entire making of the production. Maybe in university next time, or when Yhope comes up with a mega-production! Really hope to be involved in one mega production, preferably theatre, before I become like thirty and too old. All these making of kinds of remind me of guides, especially the Abyssal campfire. Although I now think that campfires are rather meaningless, I think the making of every single one is remarkable and great fun and effort. Love how we set and name that campfire, and thought of the style of it. (In design term, art direction?) Then seeing the different departments do their different roles- programme, recept and all that. I remember painting the giant backdrop which ended up being hung there in the rain... Feel like watching another theatre production (and i think i should, before i kiss student prices goodbye)... and feel like shooting an entire photo themed around the making of one.. * Been spending the past few days packing up my room. Had some fun assembling my new bed with my Dad yesterday night. Have been staying at home quite a lot and enjoying taking things slower before school starts and everything races towards me. Went to AMK and had pepperlunch with xinyi, as in xinyi kaolla, this afternoon. Quite a nice short chatty time. Ahh, the peace of the hols. 0 comments 0 Comments: |
