Some excerpts from secrets of digital illustration from rotovision:On Creativity, Creativity is best described as a mental process involving the generation of new ideas and concepts, and this process, scientists believe, can be broken down into two pathways: convergent and divergent. It is believed that scientists and engineers typically display convergent thinking when resolving a problem. This is generally recognised as the deductive generation of the best single answer to the problem. However, it is believed that artists and performers display a tendency for divergent thinking; the creative generation of multiple answers to a problem. Haha, I think this is quite true. On experimenting, "Computers are to design as microwaves are to cooking."-Milton Glaser, designer of I<3nylogo. *clap clap. Well said. "At some stage during my new piece of work, I'll start to feel that it could go wrong at any point. I always have self-doubt about how it is looking, but I know if I stick it out, it will all eventually come together" -Oliver Hydes I feel that all the time... "I get an idea and work on it right away, while it is still fresh in my mind. If I wait too long, I don't get the same rush, and the process isn't as enjoyable." -Eleanor Grolsh I know what she means, I wish I am as hardworking and spontaneous. I have a list of stuff I wish to execute, but they just stay in the list On character design, The joy, as a designer, in seeing your own character start to take shape, take on its own identity, begin to breathe, and then to walk by itself, can be compared with giving birth, though without the physical pain and the endless nappies. Sleepless nights, however, can often be part of the creative process. Hahahahaha. Something for myself to keep, Thanks for sticking on and reading till the end anyhow. 0 comments 0 Comments: |
