hello there, this exists to help my failing memory remember things I would want to remember a few years down the road.

I wore a skirt out and realised there’s typhoon

This is a lovely couple I met on the MTR just now.

I noticed them because the lady has such wonderful style, (you can't see her pleated long dress and canvas shoes, sooo pretty!) they look like they just walked out of a black and white film, sweet vintage clothes and kind eyes.

They have been married for forty-nine years, anticipating their 50th anniversary. They are from England, and are in town visiting their son, who apparently built one of the huge bridges in Hong Kong, is it the one that rises above the Noah’s Ark I wonder.

The gentleman was in Nee Soon camp back in Singapore, oh my goodness, in 1952, with the army. He told me to enjoy my career and told me that there’s great future in graphic design because of computerization, so cute!
(yes, I gathered all these info from Central to Prince Ed's, not bad right. HAHA)

It’s just so wonderful to meet such people to be in the same cabin at the right time, and having a chance to converse, making my day and making me believe in a love long lasting. The lady gave me a kiss on the cheek and told me to take care.

She is the second lady to kiss me.
My Thailand exchange partner’s mum did when I left.
I can't remember if my Mum/random people did when I was a little kid though.

Recently Asher Liew came with his family on a holiday and recently Asher Liew left too. It’s a pity we have limited time, but I am so very grateful for your visit, your gift and being so concerned and kind!

He came in on Monday evening, and I totally overslept on the bus to meet him and the other churchies that he has known long before I know them. Walked about in Shatin and joined in their family meeting on where to go the next day, super funny.

Bright and early we woke on Tuesday morning and I brought him to Central’s

which is so crooned about for its authentic Hong Kong-ness and all.
Thank God I could find the shop after stumbling a little, and lovely breakfast we had for the day.

jupabao, thick toast with loads of condensed milk atop peanut butter.

my macaroni and his uhm, maggi mee HAHA

(this is a posed shot lor, looks natural right, pro tourist)

Thank you for the treat, you’re very kind.
Brought him to H&M and rushed off for work.
Ended really late but got a ride home.

I was hoping that I would be able to get a little break so I could go to Noah’s Ark with him the next day, and a little audacious and daring request got me there, so thankful.

We went for dimsum breakfast with his family.

He said, "now you know why I am so funny and wacky." I can't agree more.

We missed the ferry by a bit due to Canto problems, tsk, and played Tap Tap Revenge at the pier, HAHA, before going up the ferry to Ma Wan Island.

Tsk HAHA

Yes that brown big thing is the Ark!

We walked past these walls

with the fruit of the spirit painted on them.

We squabbled about whether it was live-sized (I googled, it is) and the next question was “HOW did Noah build this???”

This is how the side of it looks like in comparison with a man.

The animal sculptures were lovely, and I really love the door of the ark, and that sense of renewed hope it shows as the animals march out.

It’s a pity that they didn’t build the inside due to reasons I don’t know of, so it’s like a GIANT sculpture with a floor of expo, with a lot of wonderful research, information that would bewilder you if you have time. Dewen and I kind of rushed through it.

No photograph was allowed and I’ve always obeyed exhibition courtesy, so go visit it when you’re in HK! It isn’t like a Disneyland/ocean park fun theme park kind of thing, just leaves you thinking and wanting to re-read the whole Ark story.

And pooooof, Dewen and the Liew family left for SG.

He is probably the tenth person I have seen come and leave, no doubt I am really blessed with people, Philo was saying she hasn’t seen anyone so fortunate having so many visitors, but whenever they leave there’s just this sinking feeling in your tummy knowing you can’t call them out the next day.

Internship has really been flying past lately though, work never stops coming in at Shyalala, and they have so many high-end clients it makes me very .__. If I have a choice, I would have fortune and no fame, TSK.

Dinner can take this form on long days.
All this rushing about and working has caused the updates to cease also.

It helps though, when your bosses are Singaporeans,
they buy kaya toast, so happy.

Last weekend was a very quiet bland weekend, I was really too tired to do anything very happening. Saturday was spent at church after Yoshinoya. I have finished trying all the yoshi that I want to try, that SG doesn’t have.

Here you go..

Cute chair ah.

The sauce is too bland. Tsk.

Sukiyaki! Ahh makes me miss Meridien's with Puay HAHA.
This is like 6 bucks sing, and there's Udon in the soup, and extra rice and drink and all :3

Awesome fish roe with salmon flakes
(did I blog about this before)

Why dear Yoshi doesn't want to intro all this to SG? Dim gai leh?!

Sunday I woke up at 2pm, I hate it when I do that, and headed to the film archives at Sai Wan Ho. They were having an exhibition on Lin Dai, though I know nothing about her, but wow, amazing display.

Went to catch a Godard’s film called Band of Outsiders. It’s my first black and white film on big screen! It’s a French film from 1964, themed around young people. He potrayed the young people as such free-spirited people, with dreams, plotting a robbery and all. The narration was done very appropriately and the literary flair in it was very nice too. He ended it off with “my next film will be in techni-colour” and the audience chuckled. Would love to catch his other films, but this festival stretches all the way to November, where I will be back at home sweetly. ^^

It’s very blahhhh to miss caregroups because of work, but last week I managed to go. It’s at Poly U in Hong Kong and there was a mainlander, a girl going to UK, so the mix was all funny. We sang English songs. :D actually I really like the Chinese songs they sing, Cantonese a bit more challenging, because I got to think very hard before I understand HAHA.

The previous unit caregroup we all had a little "dance class" HAHA they tried using body movements to make everyone remember the map of the Old T times, everyone looks like they are dancing. Bible study in Cantonese = death, it’s like in tongues. Really cannot get ah. Oh, I am flying home right before the bible quiz too, HEHEHE. But I really think it's awesome to make the people word-centered.

Random photos:

Had 車仔面 after work just now.
it works like yong tau fu, you choose the mee, choose the dishes and then choose soup/spicy.

I thought I had conquered my fear of nibbling at chicken feet, apparently not.

Hanging pigs

Chewy balls that I really like, from a Jap bakery though.

Oh yes,

this guy and his colleagues totally made my day last week.
Recently, two HK mtr lines joined- one is indicated by magenta, another this blue.

And they had a row of people wearing pink with those signs, and another row of them wearing blue on both side of the connecting platform. It was such a cute sight. Should have taken a photo with both sides but I was holding back my laughter too much. Sorry, I am weird like that, I was super excited when I took Circle line for the first time :X

AHHHHH *checks time*
GOOD NIGHT.
