Oh my. I woke up to facebook & hype over the Apple tablet. Or iPad, and thought it was just a bad joke. Nope, it's real and it's shipping. So super scary. OOooo0h~ Our lovely turned twenty! We celebrated over Korean BBQ at a place at Liang Seah (omg yt & zy it's like jilin one just a lot more expensive please, they charge $4 for one basket of lettuce leaves you know, so horrible!) and sweet cupcakes at Hairloom & Caramel :) Thank you for holding this silly group together with your sacrificial spirit and love :) ---------- Bus-ed down to town with these relak-ers before that. D020: TDS
Went to the Design Society Conference with YT yesterday morning.It was a star-studded event, design stars I guess, the people whose work we have admired for quite long a time. Only managed to stay for the first three speakers because my Supreme Designer > my idol designers. But it was good enough. :Phunk Studio was sooo super funny! I have a newfound respect for them and that brotherly fearless spirit, always saying yes to all sorts of clients even though they knew little. And that has brought them all the way to now, 16 years later. Fav visual rock band indeed ('cause they're the only visual rock band...)! Realised that 10am Communications did the Orchard Ion campaign (must have earned a lot) and the Speak good mandarin campaign that I always wow at at the stations etc. These creative people always make it sound effortless. Oh, the middle speaker was just very deep, so must think very the hard to understand himzzz. It's exciting times in Singapore design, they say. Thank you our "ancestors" who paved and are paving a road easier for us, if I/we ever do make it. The Design Society seeks to raise the design literacy of Singaporeans in general. And their 100 icons of Singapore display did fulfill that. We saw so many curious Singaporeans wondering why their fav banks, tiger balm, PAP logos were laid out and printed nicely and stuck on panels at the National Lib. And I am very proud of YT and her clever pattern that they have printed and embossed on the cover of the bi-annual magazine. I'll keep it and show it to my kids. HAHA. It was a good morning. (then was a good service, and a good time of visiting Shuz at her new house.) 0 comments |

Lemme share my little victory.After the worst driving lesson of my life on Monday, I wanted to call and ban that instructor, so I won't ever get him again, since he's so discouraging and all > : ( Then after battling with myself yesterday, I decided to leave it to chance, like if I ban him I will feel as though there's a hurdle I cannot overcome HAHAHA and today sure enough and suay enough, I got him and he said I drove much better. Facing the giant! And I went to talk to two random sec 1 Andersonians, and I realised I AM 7 YEARS OLDER THAN THEM AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH report report report x 2000 words COURSEMATES, remember to print two copies! +edit I think tonight is MLIA-worthy. (do not click^ if you have never tried reading it, it's addictive) The shloopers asked me to go join them in the nice little cafe for report writing, and I said I can't my Dad's throwing a thank you dinner for his employees. Or so I thought. My family looked surprised that I agreed readily to go. Then they said the dinner place is walking distance from my house so I was like huh, okay weird, the dinner is zi char? Then we neared the place and there was this huge tentage and I was like WAH 0_0 why the extent of it? And they said, no la we only have one table. And I sat at the table and looked on stage it says "celebration of the 24th anniversary of xxx lion dance society" HUH?! So I went to school today with nothing new, just smiling sheepishly at J.N, passed some gerberas to xiao xinyi for her birthday and didn't sneak Famous Amos cookies off the bag I got for her, 0 : )YT and I finally caught Avatar when many had watched it several times. And I shall blog while it's "still fresh in my mind" (I quote!) I would say it's a terrifying show. Terrifyingly good in its dedication and breakthrough in film technology, but terrifying freaky in character design and I love the night scenes, the delightful purplish glow and how the ground lights up at every step the Na'vi people made. Love the amazing skies, and the floating mountains. (which is totally not the point of the film, but still..) Was reading more about it and LOL-ed at "For the love story between characters Jake and Neytiri, Cameron applied a star-crossed love theme, and acknowledged its similarity to the pairing of Jack and Rose from his film Titanic." HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. "You jump, I jump." "I see you. I see you" :X Okay I shut, before the fans stone me. Look out for sequels. I love watching movies with YT because we laugh at all the wrong moments. things, people together. ARRRGGGGGK! *roars like Neytiri. Oh yes, I am growing to grow my hair very long, and try to connect with my car, then maybe I can drive better. |

why am I sleepy when it's only midnight?!

Today is what I'll call a peanutbutterjelly sandwich day, some bits of rough peanutbutter that's hard to swallow, some smooth chirpy jelly parts, and that very mundaneness of bread. I saw this sign outside my neighbour's house. I chuckled a little at it, considering she's your typical friendly malay lady that lives a floor above. I met her at the busstop recently and she went, "wah girl ah, so big already!" My peanut butter is actually just a very bad driving lesson. I've never had an angrier driving lesson. It's that kind of lesson that after you get off that Driver's seat you wonder if you will ever sit in it again, just felt so lousy. And it makes me feel that rage driving is more dangerous than drink driving. I was harbouring evil thoughts of crashing the car, and I almost did, but that one is my inadequacy issue. hahaha. Jelly came not too cheap. Yes, I know I haven't been much of an iPhone fan, but my track record in 2009 with phones (broken LCD x 2, lost phones x 2, corroded phone in 2 weeks) made me so exasperated I turned to... Apple. HAHAHA. Ok, excuse. Let's just hope my iPhone keeps healthy and strong. There is this magic about unboxing Apple products. 8) Try it. Yes, I also know that there's rumours that iPhone 4g (or whatever it will be called) will be out some time this year. One die-hard on a forum puts it very well, something like "then we don't have to go through that antagonizing feeling of seeing the new updated product that makes our current one look like an old hat". It's okay, having a macbook trained me, haha. Okay geek talk aside, the impromptu supper session with Esther Chan my neighbour! was also very fun. The two losers with no licenses bused out in the middle of the night for tauhuay and an hour ++ of catch up. Hey, I've known you for... eleven years and counting..! The bread part must be all the chores. I think I'm ready to live overseas, I always say that when the need arises I will learn, and the need arose and I can now wash clothes, cook rice, and clean! Let's leave cooking veggie and dishes to another time ok. Hope your start-of-the-week was as eventful and even more joyful..! |

grey canvases
Today my dear shepherd came to the now-happening Northpoint and we enjoyed Swensen's one-for-one lunch deal & stickychewychocolate and a bit of shoe shopping. Oh what bliss to not have to open .ai just a day in my life. dum, dum, dum We survived yet another one, just the final submission and we are free birds. Yesterday I lugged my huge bag of (expensive) printed matter around town, east and finally the northeast for LG. We had an interesting one at YK's, complete with being like fish and eating a lot of small bites of bread. Talking about fish, we went to Hooked at Thomson, a fish place, for Joanne's birthday. See, them trying to be fishy. She's as usual, the first in the clique to turn older and we are all not looking forward to turning twenty. No more small candles. We had Makkies's sticky chewy cakie! Self made roasted marshmallow pizza, awesome man. Oh yes, we spent the rest of the night at Icekimo talking about mature topics, like worrying for guy friends and prostitution. HAHAHA. Seriously, we never had such worries a few years back. This same gang was at Pang's butter's bbq on New Year's day. (Pang why is he called butter...) We did nothing, played mahjong and ate roasted marshmallows, my favest bbq item. (lazy to post photos) I shall continue the bliss of sleeping a lot, living in denial for a while. ahhhh~ :) |

怎么办?
"More than anything....we! are! yours!..." keeps echoing in my head.Today has been a refreshing Saturday.. Setting the pace right for the year with Sharon, Ruying & Shixin plus the new volunteers.. Reminders like how God's grace and joy can be our strength, how we cannot give something to God that costs nothing..... & most of all... just uplifting to my defeated spirit. hahaha. At 11pm yesternight, two lovely northeasters- Faith and Cong visited ulu Chong Pang and Carmen gave us all a ride home. It eased my pressure a bit, thank you. Lately, it's really very tough... you know that feeling when you don't exactly feel your work...? I am sorry for all the times I skipped through grad shows and wondered why the exhibited work is not more well done. I know your pain now, seniors. 0 comments |

I am too damn tired of pasting "e"s while sms-ing
I am on the verge of buying an iPhone because it seems that all the new models of hp are just copying the iPhone. I love my Touch, so I should love the iPhone + data plan, just that I know I gonna have lots of trouble with the touch screen keypad.Any other phone models to recommend? :( The only Aino I wanted has a glitch and seems to have disappeared off SE's site. - I am on the verge of dying from fyp too. 0 comments |

heynew year, What will you bring for me? What's next after Feb is over and we bid TDS tata? I hope to look back at '10 with amazement like what I did last year. The message is clear from yesterday's sermon - that the mother of all resolutions is the resoluteness to spend time with God. Here are my other er, daughter resolutions. one To Love Myself More no, not in the sense of going shopping and pampering myself $illy, but to see self in a positive and healthy light. I think the way I perceive myself hinders me from doing many, many things. two To Take Captive of Thoughts before They Bear Fruit "...& we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ" -2 Corinthians 10: 5b "...whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent of praiseworthy- think about such things" -Philippians 4: 8 I'll take care of my heart & mind and my speech will take care of itself. three To Be a Friend To stop whining about such issues, and to deepen and continue to treasure those friendships and to make new ones. four Fulfill my CBF with a cheerful heart, and have enough for the trips overseas. (BKK & Aussie?) five Not rot my life away after FYP Do those things I have always wanted to do, & figure out what to do next. six Have breakthroughs in my design skills & ability I guess that's enough to handle. |
